Introduction

Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) is an extended version of the Windows XP operating system that allows you to use your PC as a digital media center: you can watch TV, record TV shows, play videos, watch your digital photos and listen to music.

One of the nice features is the Guide: an electronic program guide that gives you an overview of all upcoming TV shows.

So what do you need MCE Guider for?

In Windows XP MCE 2004 the built-in MCE guide is not available in The Netherlands.
So, if you're using MCE 2004, you can use MCE Guider to get Dutch program information in MCE's program guide.

If you're using Windows XP MCE 2005, then the built-in MCE guide is available in The Netherlands.
But even now using MCE Guider has a number of advantages:

  •  MCE Guider makes program information available for many more channels than the built-in MCE guide does.
  •  The program information is more extensive.
  •  The program information is rated; so if a program is not intended for viewers of all ages, you can now see for which ages it is intended and why.
  •  All program information is in Dutch.

So, also if you're using MCE 2005, you can still use MCE Guider to get a more usable guide.

See the manual for the details.

Important note!

MCE Guider is no longer supported!
So, please don't expect new versions and such.
